| Knitting News 2004
The most exciting news for the season is that we have opened another
shop!.
More space with better displays and warehousing facilities to give
us the capacity to hold extra stock - thus improving our service.
So now we have the original Highgate Needle Nook at 433a Fullarton Rd
Highgate S.A 5063, and the new Needle Nook North East at 1/560 North East
Rd Holden Hill S.A. 5088.
For our Northern Customers it means good quality yarns in a closer location
while all our local customers will benefit from our increased stock supply.
To our internet customers it means more prompt service from the large stock
holding.
We are fortunate again this season to have such a wide range of textures
and colours in yarns supplied by Jo Sharp, Sirdar, Patons, Cleckheaton,
Wendy Peter Pan, Naturally, Ti Awa, Shepherd, Heirloom Anny Blatt, Debbie
Bliss, and Filatura D'icrossa.
New fashion designs will continue to be released throughout the season
and those already on the shelf look very exciting, from Baby's to Children's,
Men's, Woman's and Home Wares.
We have increased our range from Filatura D'icrossa which includes
Zara and Zarina the most luxurious of Wool's. It is soft to the touch,
knits more quickly (many customers insist it knits quickly due to the smoothness
of the yarn) and evenly and a joy to work with.
Jo Sharp has made quite a change to her range in the last year and this
season has added colours to the DK 8ply Wool and new yarn types with Tweed
in the DK and now rare Comfort Kid Mohair. Yes, Jo Sharp now has a Mohair
and Silk Road continues to be popular and now Silk Road Ultra as well giving
a chunky knit in natural fibres with that smooth feel of Silk Road derived
from the Silk, Cashmere and Wool blend. Of course there is a good range
of Jo Sharp pattern books available to compliment these yarns as only Jo
can do so well with great styles and taste.
Heirloom are again offering fabulous fashion yarns as are Patons, Sirdar,
Cleckheaton, and Naturally and of course Patons Feathers continues its
increasing popularity of the last 2 seasons and now with more colours as
well.
Craft, home wears and soft toys are creating lots of interest.
Shawls and throw rugs are ideal for the knitter to create their own design
piece. Patons book "Noah's Ark" has beautifully designed animal friends
and the Alan Dart's "Perfect Pups" from Sirdar are a must.
If you are looking for a small project, hand knitted socks are very
"IN". Hot socks and Patons Patonyle have the most wonderful collection
of multi coloured Sock Wools while Hot Socks also have the Jacquard that
produces a Fair Isle pattern without you having to put in any effort just
knit. The wonders of the computer age never cease as now we have computer
printed yarn to emulate Fair Isle pattern. The yarns are also perfect for
gloves and scarves.
Just remember when "feeling uptight" and "stressed out", take time to
knit a while. The sense of achievement and relaxation is worth it. No wonder
knitting is being referred to as the new "Yoga" of the new century.
Wishing you all a happy, productive and relaxing season
Regards.
Heather and Nigel
